All Members and Guests must comply by these Gym Rules at all times. Refusal or continual non-compliance with these Rules may result in the Gym user being ejected from the premises and termination of Membership if applicable.

Athletic Edge reserves the right to make changes to the Gym Rules from time to time, and any significant changes will be notified to Members in advance either via the contact details provided, and notices will be displayed on the Gym noticeboard and on our website. Copies of these Rules can be obtained from reception or from our website: www.aegyms.com

1. GUESTS

Any Guests to our premises are required to sign in at reception. Guest visits are our discretion, and availability may be restricted at peak times. Each guest will have to pay a guest fee to enter the Gym (at the rate displayed at the Gym) unless they are attending in line with a Gym promotion.

Guests must be over 16 years of age. All Guests are required to provide photographic identification and proof of age, and failure to provide this may result in the Guest being denied entry to the Gym.

All Guests must abide by these Gym Rules, and failure to do so may result in the Guest being ejected from the Gym.

2. DRESS CODE

All Gym users are expected to wear suitable attire at all times while using Gym facilities. Athletic Edge considers suitable attire to be clothing suitable for training, for example: a t-shirt or vest; shorts or trousers, and closed toe sport shoes.

The following is NOT acceptable:
1. Open shoes or bare feet;
2. No top or lack of suitable clothing; and
3. Jeans or other inappropriate trousers for training.


Gym users are not permitted to change clothing in any area other than designated changing rooms. Inappropriate attire can be offensive or intimidating to other Gym users, and as such it will not be tolerated.

Refusal to comply with the dress code may result in the Gym user being ejected from the facilities and continued refusal may result in termination of the user’s Membership under our Terms and Conditions.

All Gym users should maintain basic standards of hygiene, such as using deodorant, showering, and wearing clean gym attire.

3. CONDUCT

All Members and Guests must conduct themselves in a respectful manner whilst using Gym facilities. Any Gym user who acts in an intimidating, abusive, violent or disrespectful manner may be ejected from the Gym, and Members may have their Membership terminated under the Terms & Conditions.

During busy periods, Gym users are to use only one weights station at a time. All weights and equipment should be replaced correctly after use, and equipment and machines should be wiped down.

Any Gym user who is unsure of how to use a piece of equipment should seek instruction before proceeding to use equipment. It is your responsibility to ensure you can use the equipment correctly and Athletic Edge will not take any responsibility for injury from incorrect use of equipment if the Member does not take instruction first.

If any equipment is found to be faulty or malfunctioning, please report this to Athletic Edge staff immediately.

All Gym users must comply with any reasonable request from Athletic Edge staff in relation to health and safety, and to ensure the smooth running of the Gym.
No Gym user may bring an external personal trainer to the Gym or act as a personal trainer, paid or otherwise, unless agreed by us. Athletic Edge Personal Trainers have been confirmed as holding the required certification and insurance, and as such are the only trainers permitted to work in the Gym. Athletic Edge Personal Trainers are independent professionals, and are not employees or agents of Athletic Edge.

No food or drink should be consumed while using the Gym equipment, other than drinks in sealable containers.

Alcohol and illegal substances are prohibited from being brought into and/or consumed on the premises.

Any Gym user under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances may be ejected from the Gym, and Members may have their Membership terminated under the Terms & Conditions.

Smoking is prohibited on Gym premises at all times.

4. CLOSING TIME

Gym users must cease training no later than 15 minutes before closing, and leave the Gym before it closes.

5. LOCKERS AND LOST PROPERTY

Lockers in the Gym are for day use only.

Athletic Edge strongly advises all Gym users to lock their belongings in a locker at all times that they are using the Gym’s facilities.

For any lockers left locked overnight, Athletic Edge reserves the right to open and remove items from the locker for health and safety reasons. Members will be able to access their belongings at reception. Any belongings not picked up within a reasonable time will be donated to charity.


Any property found left unattended in the Gym after the Gym closes will be kept for a reasonable period, and then may be donated to charity.

Use of the lockers is at the risk of individual Gym users. Athletic Edge takes no responsibility for loss, theft or damage for any items brought into the Gym, unless Athletic Edge is shown to have been negligent. Athletic Edge strongly recommends Gym users to avoid bringing valuable items to the Gym where possible.

8. GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

If any Gym user has concerns in relation to health and safety, they must report the issue to Athletic Edge staff immediately.
